About

B K Mishra — a student of two libraries.

Behavioural-change coach. Author. Business owner. Eleven years teaching the Gita, eleven hundred books on the brain, and one long private cycle of resolution and collapse.

I did not come to this work through a university department. I came to it through my own failure.

For years I lived inside the cycle you may recognise: the Monday-morning vow that lasted until Wednesday, the fresh start that lasted exactly as long as my enthusiasm, the private conviction that if I could just find a little more discipline, everything would fall into place.

I was, at the same time, running a business, leading people, and being told I was doing well. Both things were true. That is the part almost nobody talks about.

The Two Libraries

The neuroscience and the wisdom were saying the same thing.

For eleven years I have taught the Bhagavad Gita to people trying to change their lives. In the same years, I read more than eleven hundred books on the science of behaviour — the workings of the brain, the patterns of the mind, the mechanics of how habits form and dissolve.

For most of that time I believed the two libraries were telling me different things. The neuroscience spoke of dopamine and the basal ganglia. The wisdom traditions spoke of practice and the witness within. I read them in different rooms, on different nights.

Slowly — then suddenly — I understood they were saying the same thing in two vocabularies. The 9-Point Reset Method™ is my attempt to put the pieces together.

"The wisdom traditions worked this out three thousand years ago. Laboratory neuroscience confirmed it three decades ago."

The Operator

I coach executives because I am one.

I am the CEO of a compliance and maintenance business in Australia. I know payroll, difficult clients, the 6am start and the 11pm inbox. I know what it is to be respected in a room and exhausted in the car afterwards.

This matters, because most coaches offering to fix your life have never carried the weight you carry. I do not coach from a textbook. I coach from the road — with the neuroscience and the contemplative traditions as instruments, not decoration.

"You are not the habits you carry.
You are the one who has just decided to put them down."

If any of that sounded like you.

Read the book, or apply to work together. Both roads start in the same place.
